Fujisaki Ichiro / Former diplomat

He is the President of the America-Japan Society, Inc., Chancellor of Kitakamakura Girls’ School. In 1969, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as Director General for North American Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister, and Ambassador to the UN and WTO in Geneva and Ambassador to the United States. He had been a Professor of Sophia University and Keio University.

Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1958.
After graduating from Teikyo Senior High School and Meiji University, he played for NTT Kanto Football Club.
After retiring, he worked as a coach and manager, and in 2007 was appointed manager of Nadeshiko Japan (Japan’s women’s national team), leading Japan to its first world championship at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, among many other accomplishments. 
In recognition of these achievements, he has received numerous awards, including the National Honor Award and the Medal with Purple Ribbon. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Japan Football Association as the chairperson of the Women’s Committee, he is also active in fostering future generations in various capacities, including Vice President of Jumonji University. 
He is the author of “Now Nadeshiko power”, “Nadeshiko power: Next”, and “Organization to win”.
