The Butterfly Effect – key to happiness in a young person’s life

What is peace for you?

A sense of being safe, trusting people, knowing that they love you and you can love them

Through social media apps and community. Youth can have fun, spread love and affection and make new friends.

Hello! I am Danielius and I live in a small town in the Šiauliai region. A lot of youth today are experiencing hate, abuse, or bullying in the early stages of life. For example, in my town, many young kids and teenagers seek to be alone, forgotten, or develop major insecurities. They are misunderstood. The black swans of the group. So, they fall into useless social media platforms to forget the pain until the day is over. But it does not disappear, and it starts to overflow to others until it is a never-ending cycle of spreading hate.
My vision of Peace is applying the Butterfly effect correctly so that love spreads from the youth and blooms into the world being a better place. My idea of spreading that love is through online communities and projects all around the world. There are a lot of communication apps for all ages and millions of different communities. I and my friends use different platforms to communicate, broaden our horizons, watch shows together, listen to music, help each other, write projects and have fun. We want to create a platform for people to do all of that and more, in one single app. This way young people can use their time wisely, talk to someone, and get help. And when they feel better, they can help others and continue a life of constant happiness with new friends, hobbies, and things to do on our app. Looking at my ideas some people might say that it won’t be any different from our typical social media sites. But I disagree. First, we are not thriving for money or fame; we only want to spread joy and love all around the world. Secondly, our team would be made up mostly of youth. Which means it will be easier to get along with the app users. Thirdly, we would have constant moderators checking for people who go against the rules, constant meetings on deciding what to do next, what to change, interacting with our users, doing events, etc. And finally, we would have a mentor, watching and reviewing our work. That way, I think our app would be different from anything that exists today! And it is more meaningful. I think a young person should talk with a friend online for a couple of hours instead of getting lost in the rabbit hole of TikTok and YouTube shorts.
In my mind, peace is not something that can be created, it is something that can only be achieved by spreading it and “sharing” It with everyone. Young people have so much ahead of them. Our youth can change the future. Unfortunately, young people might not be strong enough to stop wars or change laws, but we can spread love. And we can start projects that might be butterfly sized compared to the whole world, but they might leave an impact on today’s problems. We are the only ones that can fix the world. And it might just take one small little butterfly to make it all right…
