Having love and understanding.

Understanding the concept of peace

My name is Matheus Ryu Higa, I am 11 years old and I am a student of 6th grade in Elementary School, and like everyone else, I have many dreams and I think about my future.
Sometimes I think about being a musician, other times a football player, or maybe a doctor. I know I have time, but sometimes I find myself thinking about what it’s going on in the future.
When I watch the news, I’m scared by what I see, and sometimes I think it’s like a movie about terrorists, wars, crimes, racial segregation, but then I realize the news is real and it’s from today’s world, full of intolerance and violence around the world.
I get worried and ask my parents:
– Will the world exist when I grow up?
– Will the world continue like this, or even get worse?
– Is it possible to have a solution to end so much violence in this world?
And as you knows, they don’t have the answers to so many questions and concerns that I have.
I want and aspire, in the future, to be healthy, have a family, a profession, travel around the world, give security to my parents who have done so much for me. But once again I ask myself: – Will it be possible?
Among so many questions, I seek to know why people act like that, and what I observe is even more shocking. Nobody seems to control the wave of violence, the virus pandemic, the wars, the deaths.
But then what would be the solution? And the only thing that comes to mind is PEACE! Only peace.
By the way, what is peace? There are so many definitions, such as:
– Peace is having love and understanding;
– Peace is taking care of the environment in which we live;
– Peace is a world without war between countries;
– Peace is having the strength to face problems and resolve difficulties;
– Peace is to live the good times with joy;
– Peace is to ensure that everyone has the right to food, education, health and culture;
– Peace is where there is God, and we know that God is love.

Knowing the concept of peace, I understood that peace is in everywhere and gives us meaning to life.
I believe that everyone can collaborate now, with effort, care and respect for themselves and others, so that in this way, peace becomes a reality and not just a desire, it becomes an act and not just a search, become a fact and not just a dream. Because DREAMING IS GOOD, BUT LIVING IS EVEN BETTER!
