Mr. Masanori Kanda, a Japanese management consultant and writer,
gave us a message of support for the Children’s World Peace Summit.

Thinking about peace is very difficult.
This “Children’s World Peace Summit” reminded me that again.

Although it is called the “Children” Peace Summit,
it was I who is an “adult” who began to think deeply about peace.

Seeing the children seriously talking about peace and announcing it made me question myself.

Am I thinking about peace as much as my children and living each day?

I would like to thank everyone at the Peace Piece Project
for giving such an invaluable opportunity to adults.

I am Masanori Kanda
and I am a consultant for creative problem solving.

When I thought about peace this time,
I wondered how to express peace, and I found a sentence.
It’s a great sentence, so I’ll share it with you.

That is the sentence written
in the lecture record “Building a Bridge” by Empress Michiko.
She mention peace.

‘From the time they are born,
people must build bridges one after another to all around them,
deepening their links with other people and things,
thus creating their own world to live in.
If such bridges are not built,
or even after building if the bridge fails to fulfil its function,
or if the will to build bridges is lost,
people become helplessly isolated and lose their peace.’

――If the will to build bridges is lost,
people become helplessly isolated and lose their peace.

This sentence made me very impressed.

Am I having the will to bridge?
And to the children, do I have the will to bridge?

Nowadays, there are many difficult problems in the world.
Every day, adults are likely to be crushed by the difficult problem.

But at that time, are the adults,
and am I, willing to bridge?

As long as it has this “will”, we are not isolated.
Peace will not be lost.

By the Children’s World Peace Summit this time,
I was able to once again inspire my will to bridge to children again.

I sincerely hope that many adults will have the opportunity
to create a great future with children.

Congratulations to the Peace Piece Project, on the first holding this summit!
Let’s do our best together.
